Godspell is a vibrant and unconventional musical that reimagines the teachings of Jesus through a blend of parables, pop-rock music, and playful theatricality. Stories like the Good Samaritan, Prodigal Son, and Unforgiving Servant—are delivered with humor, mime, and song.

In 2021, Godspell saw several notable revivals that refreshed its message for contemporary audiences while staying true to its roots in the Gospel of Matthew. Theatre Victoria's production will be directed by Chip Reynolds.
